Found in Gilberdyke, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, 34 x 28mm.
An Archangel flax / hemp seal.

Reverse: - АРХ БР / КУДEЛЬH / 2 СОРТЪ / ЕП / 18?? / I.I
АРХ БР is Archangel bracked .. inspected in Archangel
КУДEЛЬH is KUDEL'N .. the coarse broken part of hemp or flax or a mix of both after the Heckling and Scutching processes. The L'N suggests the mix is mainly flax.
2 СОРТЪ is 2nd SORT.
ЕП (EP) are the initais of the Grower/Owner/Agent
The date is distorted .. 18?? .. however the intials I.I occur on another seal we have dated 1867 .. and we have Plotnikovs workinf from 1840 - 1880 .. .. see IDS 1094 on:- The PeaceHavens Project, Seal Numbers 1001 - 1100.
(In certain circumstance I.I is Ivan Ivanovich and is associated with the Hills and Wishaw Company.. though this may not be the case here.)"
