German, Flour Bag Seal, Lindenthal, Image by StuE, Found by Peeler.
Found on the Isle of Man.
Letter O or number 0 on one side.
Other side has four lines of script, Top and bottom ones curved:- ????ENTHALL (M?)A(Y?)L ???L(M?) ????DENTH??
The O suggests it is a flour bag seal:- "Flour used to be categorised into '00', '0', '1' and '2' grades, '00' being the finest and whitest and working down to the almost wholemeal grade '2' flour."
From Paul Cannon, "I think I can reconstruct this seal:
LINDENTHALER
MAHL-MÜHLE
LINDENTHAL
ie Lindenthal Grinding Mill Lindenthal. Lindenthal is a district of Cologne but also of Leipzig."
