This image was kindly supplied by Professor J. Gawronski, and is copyright to the Bureau of Monuments and Archaeology, city of Amsterdam. The item is recorded as WLO1-13 and has the following information, "WLO1-13: excavation Waterlooplein 181-1982, stray find from landfill 1550-1597 or cesspit 1600-1800."
This seal is recorded as 5619 in Provenanced Leaden Cloth Seals by Geoffrey Egan, Sub-Department of Medieval Archaeology, University College, University of London. submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, 1987, p.144.
The suggestion of a possible date indicated on the rivet disc beneath the S and W as (clockwise) 15(?2) and on the rove disc as 1(?572) does not concur with Egan's description.
See PAS LON-D8F9B3 for a very similar seal found in London (Dowgate).
