The seal of C. Kortman & Schulte Soda and Chemical Factory.

"The Rotterdam Soda and Chemicals Factory, until 1895 C. Kortman and Schulte, was a chemical factory founded in 1885 - 86 that was originally located at the Zwaanshals in Rotterdam and from 1888 at the Buizenwaal (near the Achterhaven ) in Delfshaven, on the former shipyard site of the Dutch East India Company (VOC).
The company was founded by Constant Kortman (1855-1901), son of a soda merchant, and the German chemist Hermann Schulte (1853-1914).
The factory was the first Dutch company to produce crystal soda. In addition, it made acetic acid, soft soap and soap powder, iodine, saltpeter, glycerine and animal feed. It became known in the 1950s of, among other things, the detergents Triangle and Biotex .
The factory was acquired by Royal Zwanenberg Organon (KZO) in 1965 and ultimately produced only glycerine. Finally, because the palm oil from Malaysia that was used for this purpose was processed in that country itself, the factory lost its function and was closed in 1996." Wikipedia.
