Dutch, Reilly & Walker Flax Seed Seal

Dutch, Reilly & Walker Flax Seed Seal, Image & Found by Andy McCloy.
Found in Northern Ireland, 18mm.

REILLY & WA(LKER) / ROTTERDAM / . AND . / COURTRAI // EXTRA SPECIAL / ligated ER (E reversed) / DUTCH SEED

Identified by Paul Cannon, "This is a flax seed seal for Dutch sowing flax seed. Obverse: REILLY & WA[LKER] ROTTERDAM AND COURTRAI. Reverse: EXTRA SPECIAL DUTCH SEED around ligated ER (E reversed).
The following is an advert for Reilly and Walker which illustrates the same logo for the brand as well as illustrating both sides of the lead seal attached to each sack.
“PURE DUTCH SOWING FLAX SEED. Shipped by Reilly & Walker, Rotterdam and Courtrai.
Ligated ER [E reversed]. Superior sowing flax seed has again given satisfactory results with some enormous yields. From Banbridge District we hear of 65 stones to the acre; Ballymoney District 13 stones to the peck, or about 91 stones to the English acre. All this brand of seed is uniform in quality. In cleansing this seed we remove the light immatured pickles, thus guaranteeing to the farmer a leveller, better Braird and so producing a better crop of flax. It requires to be sown much thinner than ordinary Riga and Pernau seeds on account of its high germination, thus costing less per acre for seed sown. We test all seed before shipment. Farmers should purchase early as this quality of seed is very limited. Sold by all the principal merchants in the provincial towns in Ireland. Each sack is marked in red letters & sealed with our leaden seals as here shown (both sides of the seal are illustrated at the end of the advertisement and confirm the above reading of Andy McCloys seal)
[Belfast News-Letter, 16 January, 1914, p4]
The following letter was published in the Coleraine Chronicle. “Dear Sir – One of the most important things in growing good flax is to procure good seed. The best seed comes from the districts where the best flax is grown. I have no hesitation in recommending farmers to sow ER Dutch Flaxseed, shipped by Messrs. Reilly & Walker of Rotterdam. This firm being largely engaged in the Flax Trade, have particularly good opportunities of buying seed direct from farmers, so that there is no better or more reliable Dutch Flaxseed shipped from Rotterdam.
Saml. M’Causland, Agent for Messrs. Reilly & Walker. [Coleraine Chronicle, 16 January, 1886, p5]"
