A cloth worker's personal seal of the pictorial type. the scratched 22 probably represents the length in yards of the cloth it was attached to.

A similar copse can be found on the seals of the Du Bois clothiers, see BSG.CS.01051 and others on that page. Probably late 17th to 18th century.

The device may be on a smaller scale and representing flower-like plants.
