.1.1/8.B. / TURXENZ(Y) / DEINSLAG / 63 (secondary oblong stamp, illegible) // missing but rivet stub has partial stamp of Leiden arms (cloth weave impression on reverse of rivet disc)

Leiden cloth seal.

From Jan van Oostveen, "The text on the seal is TURXENZY DEINSLAG. It must be read as TURX EN ZYDE INSLAG. Width of the textile is 1 1/8 el which is typical for Leiden. Length is 63 el. The textile is a combination of Mohair (TURX) and silk (ZYDE). The word 'INSLAG' is a typical term used by weavers. It refers to how the combination of silk and Mohair was combined in the textile. ... And this seal can be roughly be dated 1650-1750."
