USA Meat Inspection Seal, Image by StuE, Found by Goretex.
Found in England, 12 x 16mm, 3.0g.
A tab shaped seal that looks to have been stamped by a circular die. Both sides have the remains of what looks to have been a continuous raised circle border. On one side there is USA with S slightly lower than the U and A and on the other is the word MEAT straight across the top and INSPECTION curved at the bottom. There may be initials between these words but the area has been largely obscured by rust stains which also occur in several other places suggesting it was attached with wire.
