Information found by Philippe Lanez from the 'Yearbook of the Berlin Stock Exchange: A reference book for bankers and capitalists', "Mercur Wool Goods Factory in Liegiiitz with branch office in Warsaw.
Founded: On 28 April 1897 Last Statute of 15 March 1899. Purpose: Production of wool products (mainly production of woollen fantasy articles), as well as the acquisition and operation of Beer & Co. in Liegnitz, acquired for M 1 467 112 from 1 Dec 1896. The purchase price was paid by 1096 shares of the company 1000 and takeover of M 284 593 liabilities by the company. The property of the company covers an area of approx. 26 a 43 sqm, of which 18 a 62 sqm are allocated to the buildings.
The branch office in Warsaw was founded on 10 Nov 1898." (The original German does actually say 'fantasy articles' - 'Fantasiertikeln'!)
