Cloth Seal, Gloucestershire, Alnage Seal, RN, Cross
Cloth Seal, Gloucestershire, Alnage Seal, RN, Cross, Image & Found by Tom Redmayne
"Found at Saltfleet on the North Lincolnshire coast.
The front is a cross on a shield with III above.
The reverse is hard to read but looks like a line of pellets with ANG beneath it then III below that with some numbers or letters, maybe 180 or LBO, below that...but don't quote me on that..............my eyes aren't that good
It is 15mm across and 22mm long including the tang"
From Paul Cannon, "I am fairly sure I can see RN above III [or is it IIII?] with a date above ie 16??. Starting to read at 1 o'clock GLOS[.........], presumably 'Glosters'. For a very similar seal see PAS GLO-BE1C08 The cross is the same type and I think I can make out part of he wreath".
