Not a Cloth or Bag Seal, Capacity Seal, Danish, Crown, 71 Seal

Crown, 71 Seal, Image & Found by John Kristensen.
Found in Denmark.

A square tubular seal with what appears to be the number 71 beneath a crown.

Possibly a Danish equivalent to British capacity seals, see - PAS LIN-4DDD52
"A capacity seal made of lead and dating to the post-medieval period. The seal is a flat band of lead that would have originally been attached to the handle of a drinking vessel to mark that it was of official capacity. The seal displays a stamped crown above unclear lettering.

The stamp is a kind of capacity mark, to show that the particular stoneware vessel officially held the correct volume of liquid. Usually these marks were stamped integrally into the ceramic before firing (near the rim - ie inevitably close to the handle)."
