Koert Reinders is known to have run an oil mill in 1868 at Martenshoek (a former village, nowadays district, in the province of Groningen, in the region of Veenkoloniën, municipality of Midden-Groningen). In 1890 he started this steam flour mill but due to American competition it was not successful. He returned to the oil mill business, which was very successful and finally taken over by 'Golden Wonder'.
