From KIZ - afdeling Friesland, "Division of Friesland of the Assessment Institute for Cereal Seeds, Seeds and Potatoes, The association, abbreviated with the letters KIZ, was founded on 16 September 1926 in Leeuwarden and was active as an inspection institute with the quality assurance of the multiplication and marketed seeds and seed potatoes in the province of Friesland. When over time the inspection was taken over by national organizations (such as the NAK), the institute became excess and after a change of statute 1998 decided to give the association a different goal: Promoting and supporting the arable farming interests in the province of Friesland and the general agricultural interests in and outside of Friesland.
The association consists of 60 members living in Friesland, who are often active or former seed growers or are involved in the arable growers. The board consists of chairman Jan Riemersma, secretary Camiel Hoogland, treasurer Jelte Pars and general members Gerlof Bergmans and Nantko Reitsma."
