Found in North Hertfordshire / Cambridgeshire area, 20mm, 7.6g.
Privy mark in double ringed border, outer beaded, consisting of the figure 4 with the horizontal leg extended and crossed and the greatly extended vertical leg leading down, with the initials HW either side, to a base line curving down at each end and joining to two joined X's.
Tentative dating of late eighteenth century to early nineteenth is based on style - see No.220, Fig.31, Geoff Egan, 'Lead cloth seals and related items in the B.M. (B.M. Occasional Paper 93)' - "Clothiers', weavers' & searchers' seals with privy marks etc."
