Farine, French Flour Seal, Image by StuE, Found by Dick Col. Club.
Found in the Colchester area, 18mm, 7.3g.
An off stamped bag seal both sides showing part of continuous raised circle border. Curved around the inside of this border on one side is the word FARINES which in French refers to flour, another word curved beneath is missing. At the centre is an eight petalled flower head. The other side shows an anchor with the initials ME either side of it, the M might be the Roman Numeral III?
