Identified by Philippe Lanez, "French flour bag seal in Jouy. HENRI MAUNOURY is the name of the miller. There have been for or five mills. ... we can date the seal between 1881 and 1906. There have been 3 Henris in the Maunoury family working on mills. Henri Maunoury Delavalée (name of spouse), the elder who ran the Mill of Chartainvilliers in the village of Soulaires. Two of their sons where born there. Paul, the younger one, will run this mill after his father retires, 1881 population census mentions him as miller there. Possibly at the same time Henri Maunoury Labiche, his older brother, began to run a mill in association with Jules, a cousin, as appears in 1886 census of Jouy. (Census every five years). He have run the mill until about 1901, when the census specifies, he has no longer an activity. His address in those acts is Bout d'Anguy Road, that means the mill is the one we know as Moulin de Lambouray nowadays. I've not found any ancient view of this place.
Two sons were born to Henri Labiche and his wife, Charlotte. The younger named Henri-Alfred will have a life in the service of the French state and will be prefect of the department of Maine-et-Loire from 1926 until his retirement 1934. That's social advancement. ... The last find in local religious archives show that the mill of Lambourray was already existing in the year 1130, belonging to the monastery of Josaphat. Accord avec Jean Pied-de-Voleur pour les moulins de Lambourray. (Agreement with JOHN THIEF-FOOT about the mills of Lambouray), indeed in an inventory years after, three grindstones are identified. Concorda facta cum Johanne Pede-Latronis super molendinis de Lamburedis.
