From the finder, "In 1876, the largest garancine* factory in the Netherlands, M.H.Salomonson in Rotterdam, began to experiment with the preparation of superphosphate. The company prospered and exported a lot, especially to Germany. When the superphosphate market took off in 1890, it was by far the largest fertilizer producer. Just before the first W.O. there were about 20 fertilizer factories of which six were from Salomonson. In 1912 Zwijndrecht was the largest with 383 employees, then Capelle a/d IJssel with 215, A'dam 176, Hoogkerk 100 and Uden 86 employees. In 1877 he was already producing 14000 kg of superphosphate. *Garancine (from French: la garancine = madder) is a concentrated pigment from the madder root."
