[N]ORR(orK)K(or I) / [O]PING[E] / HALL / STEMP[E] // 1828
From Paul Cannon, "I'm wondering if this is a Swedish cloth seal which may read [N]ORR(orK)K(or I) / [O]PING[E] / HALL / STEMP[E] // 1828. Some of the letters are unclear but I think it probably relates to Norrköping in north east Sweden. One of its several nicknames, in Swedish, translate as ‘textile workers’ town’. Another was ‘Sweden’s Manchester’, all relating to the importance of the trade to the town at this period. See Norrköping. For a group of other Swedish seals see BSG.CS.01347.
