Seed Merchants, Carters Bag Seal

Carters Bag Seal, Image & found by jca.
Found this at the Hinckly Club rally last Sunday. It's 27 mil by 22mil and has the word CARTERS, I cannot read the other side. JIM. From the comments kindly supplied below we suspect it says London on the reverse - a supporting photo would be appreciated.

The script style of Carters looks very much like that registered as the trademark for Carters Tested Seeds (The Best & Cheapest) 1879.

James Carter, Dunnet and Beale of 237-238 High Holborn, London

* 1804(?) Company was established.

* 1879 Company first registered a trademark for Trocadero - Carters Grass Seeds, the company's agricultural and horticultural seeds.

* 1910 The company moved from High Holborn to Raynes Park, South West London.

* 1930 The company became a limited company as Carters Tested Seeds Ltd.

* 2008 The company, along with Suttons is now part of Vilmorin, an international company, and one of the largest packet seed distributors in the world.
