It is not known if the seal is from before or after the Simpson Brothers firm was dissolved on 1st January 1894, leaving John Craster Sampson to continue trading with that name at King Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Edward Chappell Simpson trading under his own at Spring Bank Works, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
