From Ged Dodd, "N 50 // SPB / AN:RH / 1760 ..from this little information we can say ..
An unknown hemp inspector working out of 50 post on the Baltic Sea coast in 1760 (Perhaps in St Petersburg or Narva, Memel, Tilsit, Konigsberg, Liebau, Reval or Riga ..(the SPB here is just confirming the contents of the bale are hemp and does not necessarily mean it is from St Petersburg)
The Grower/Owner/Agent initials are AN and the RH hemp is best quality Rein (Rhine) Hemp .. the longest best quality hemp, oily, strong and free of Codilla and woody particles..
This is a new number post for us .. we have No 50 .. but not N 50 hemp.
