Identified by Paul Cannon, "I am sure that this is a Norwich cloth seal of the type bearing a date and the initials of the mayor. ‘I.S’ for John Suckling, who was mayor in 1584. The other face appears to have a rampant lion. For a better preserved example see BSG.CS.01912."
