Cloth Seal, Alnage, Crowned Fleur-de-lis

Cloth Seal, Crowned Fleur-de-lis, Image by StuE, Found by Mr. P.J. Elkins.
Found on Thames foreshore, Queenhithe Dock, 15mm, 1.2g.

Missing // crown over fleur-de-lis, T P to sides // missing // missing

An inner disc from a four disc alnage seal. The initials TP have been associated with an alnager on other seals. TP or PT (ligature) is known from Kent, Essex and Norwich (and possibly Devon or Hampshire) seals, (probably Charles II, p.142) [Egan, G., 1987]. See seal BSG.CS.00392. However they may well be IR for James I, see BSG.CS.00013.
