Cloth Seal, Belgian, Unused Blank, Image & Found by Johan Dils.
Found in Belgium, Michelin, 18 x 18mm.
An unused seal indicating the double rivet and interestingly showing that there was no connecting strip on this form of the cloth seal. The strip of lead protruding from the side of the rivet disc does not connect to the other disc, it is simply a casting sprue left over from the moulding process.
This was found in Michelin which was known as Malines in the time of the Low Countries. It matches the stamped seals from there very well.
