An inner disc from a four-disc alnage seal. The initials may be those of an alnager. Possibly Robert Lewis, who along with Richard Blower held the alnage in trust for Aubigney & his children. In 1644 the Duke of Lennox & Lord Aubigney were 'delinquent' and the Committee for Revenue sequestered there aulnage rights until 1647. Or possibly Robert Legge, who rented the alnage farm from Lord Arran in 1665 (see PAS NMS-B0E580).
