Cloth Seal, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Komerzi Stempel No.

Cloth Seal, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Komerzi Stempel No., Image & Found by Arsenbronze Eu.
Found In the Czech Republic near city Rakovník, 15mm.

Crowned double-headed eagle // (K.)K. / (KO)MERZI(A) / (S)TEMPEL / No.430

Identified by Michel Royer. See Euro-Plombs, Plombs de scelle "Komerzi stempel No ... ", "Sealing for textiles probably taxes on trade in fabrics as suggested by the legend: Kaiserlich-Königlich Komerzia stempel No 26 (commercial stamp Royal and Imperial nr 26) - Lead of the 19th century, other numbers observed: 43, 93 - to note that on some copies the A of Komerzia is not visible. ... for this lead we can give a dating range from 1764 to 1790 because the eagle bears the bason in the coat of arms of Austria / Lorraine which represents the central part of the private coat of arms of Emperor Joseph II of Habsburg - Lorraine who reigned from 1764 a 1790. See the link: Euro-Plombs."

The arms are those of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and vary according to the province. As they are in unusually good condition on this seal, a specialist may well be able to discover the area.

Another example has been found by Maraxp in the same approximate location but this one is not so clearly marked, has a different number and is stamped on different sides, i.e. the writing is on the rivet disc and the eagle is on the rove disc side.
