A four-disc alnage seal from the reign of George I showing his head on disc 2. The 42 on disc 1 probably represents 42 yards for the length of the cloth it was attached to. The 1 1/2 to the sides of Britannia on disc 3 is the subsidy charged by the alnager. The third image has been included to highlight the Royal Monogram (Georgius Rex) on disc 4.
