I. F. / PERRIN / A LYON // three fluers-de-lis over lion passant
From Paul Cannon, "Can I suggest that the right hand image is the arms of Lyon. Left hand image reads I. F. / PERRIN / A LYON. The seal relates to the silk industry of Lyon. A parallel seal is recorded by Antoine Sabatier (1912) p333 & Pl. XV-XVI no.250. Sabatier suggests an 18th century date for the seal. Other members of the Perrin family were also involved in the silk industry.
