Missing // ✱ DEVON•76• around, all in annulet border // Harp •o• above and variations to sides all in concentric borders of rope, line and annulets // blank rove disc

Three parts of an opened four part alnage seal (rivet disc missing and rove disc has folded onto the back of disc 3), disc 1 - missing, disc 2 - lozenge shaped, five spoked star inscription around DEVON.76. in circular border of annulets, disc 3 - harp with pellet and annulet decorations above and to sides, all in a triple circle border of rope, line and annulets, disc 4 - circular rove disc, no stamp marks detectable.

The numbers are for 1676. Simalar seals are known with a crown and a lion in place of the Harp, see (1648) and (4029), Provenanced Leaden Cloth Seals by Geoffrey Egan, Sub-Department of Medieval Archaeology, University College, University of London. submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, 1987.
