First side:-
First line- ЛД = LD = l'nyanoy dosmotr = Flax Inspection.
Second & Third line - Г:НИК = G:NIK / ИФОРО = IFORO name of quality control officer - G. Nikiforov, a seal with this name dated in the 1790's is in the Cupar, Fife Museum, designated as CUPMS: 1999.54.39 in Sullivan's book*.
Fourth line - H71 = N71 = number of work station used by QA officer.
Second side:-
First line - NP = unknown initials.*
Second line - ?Б12(Р?) = initials and numerals indicating the content of the bales.
Third line - 1795 = date of assessment.
