From Paul Cannon, "This is a 'sumac' seal. Sumac is a plant that was used as a tanning agent in making leather. One of the places it grows particularly well is Sicily and around its capital Palermo. 1) PRIME QUALITY WARRANTED and 2) [GENUINE] SUMAC M.POJERO PALERMO. The joined letters MP in one of the recesses are for the firm of M. Pojero who is named on the seal."
