"Seed Research and Analysis Laboratory
Founded in 1908 by Prof. Francesco Todaro as a "Laboratory for the control and trade of seeds" at the then Advanced School of Agriculture of the University of Bologna, the laboratory is authorized (Presidential Decree 1065/1973, Art. 27) under execution of analyzes for the purpose of applying the seed legislation. Since 2000 it has been an ISTA accredited laboratory and since 2010 it has been authorized by the Australian Department of Agriculture for the certification of seed lots to be exported to Australia (AQIS rules).
On request, Laras carries out the following service activities, at a tariff and in agreement, for public bodies and private subjects (seed companies, multiplier farmers, food industry, etc.):
Official sampling service of seed lots, especially those intended for export (ISTA Orange certified), at seed companies."
