Identified by Philippe Lanez, "It reads JACQUIN FRERES PARIS. These brothers used to make chocolate, sweets and candied chestnuts. A shop in Paris, 12 rue Pernelle, and a plant in Dammarie-Les-Lys near Melun." Troyes-en-Champagne, 'Julien Joseph Jacquin (1802-1855), watchmaker, mechanical engineer, hosiery industrialist, Republican activist in Troyes has filed for numerous patents for looms and some on the manufacture of sugared almonds. His wife and two of his children Henry and Anatole continued to operate a chocolate factory in Paris, 12 rue Pernelle after the death of the founding father in 1855. Chocolate production will then be moved to Dammarie les Lys en Seine- et-Marne and managed by the family until the middle of the 20th century.
Julien Joseph Jacquin, clock maker, engineer, hosiery industrial was also a chocolate producer. His chocolate factory begins in Paris, moves towards Dammarie lesLys (Seine et Marne) and has been ruled by his descendants until the years 1950.'
