Horniman's tea Seal, Image & Found by Richard Worton.
Found near Sheffield, ?mm.
ORNIMA.. curving downward / PURE straight across middle / numbers, possibly 75 // globe with longitude and latitude grid bisected by TRA(D)EM(ARKS), supporters below, lion sejant left and dragon? sejant right
The bracketed letters in TRADEMARKS are far from definite. No product, company or organisation has yet been associated with this seal.
From Paul Cannon, "I am sure this seal relates to Horniman’s tea. Reads ‘[H]ORNIMA[NS] / PURE / TE[A]. Here is a logo for the brand, which although not 100% identical, is so close I have no doubt. I can just make out the lion to the left and the griffin to the right of the globe on the actual seal. See Horniman's tea packet, circa 1890.
