The inner-discs from a four disc alnage seal for Norfolk. The rivet and rove disc are commonly left attached to the cloth when the seal is broken off. Norwich alnage seals are known (see BSG.CS.00742) and seals for Norfolk, as defined by the absence of a lion beneath the castle on the city arms, also but this is one of very few known example of a seal showing Norfolk as a an inscription.
