Gliwice is a city in Upper Silesia, in southern Poland. The city is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Kłodnica river (a tributary of the Oder). It lies approximately 25 km West from Katowice, regional capital of the Silesian Voivodeship.

"- AP Wrocław, ZODW, reference number, 29, p. 8. Report ..., Poland Żegluga na Odrze had 11 tugboats and 102 barges from extraction and 11 tug boats from renovation works. The State Water Boards had 24 tugboats and 93 barges from mining, and 10 tugs and 39 barges from renovation. (no explanation of difference regarding barges after renovation has been found in the sources). It should be added that apart from these two shipping and administrative companies, the Oder fleet wanted to acquire companies extracting aggregate and private companies, among others Odrawis Society of Foreign Trade and Baltic Company for International Transport "Balsped-Odra", see AP Wrocław, ZODW, reference number, 10, p. 301."
This appears to imply that "Balsped-Odra" was the Baltic Company for International Transport. (Original Polish - "Trzeba dodać iż oprócz tych dwóch firm żeglugowej i administracyjnej tabor odrzański chciały pozyskać firmy wydobywające kruszywo oraz firmy prywatne m. in. Towarzystwo Handlu Krajowego i Zagranicznego "Odrawis" oraz Bałtycka Spółka dla Międzynarodowego Transportu "Balsped-Odra" zob. AP Wrocław, ZODW, sygn., 10, s. 301.")
