Bayer Salz Seals, Image by StuE, Found by Quozzy.
Two seals found in Germany, 19mm, 6.8g & 17mm, 7.1g.
Both have one side consisting of what looks to be the Lesser coat of arms of Bavaria on one side although it appears to have a royal crown above rather that the the five leaved people's crown introduced in 1923, also the number of lozenges looks to be closer to the 21 used from the 15th century rather than the 42 when Bavaria became a kingdom in 1806 but the seal does not look that old and the actual number of lozenges was probably determined by convenience for this use. The other sides have the number (2?) and 4 at there centres and BAYER curved downward around the top and SALZ curved upwards around the bottom.
Salz is German for salt but there is also a town in the district of Rhön-Grabfeld in Bavaria with the same name and so it is not possible to say with certainty that it is a salt bag seal.
I have not been able to make any connections so far with the well known German company Bayer.
