Cloth Seal, London Patron Saint

Cloth Seal, London Patron Saint, Image & Found by Groats.
Found in England

A pre-Reformation (1530) seal, a clearer parallel of which is described in Egan , Lead cloth seals and related items in the British Museum (B.M.occ.papers 93), as "head (of St Paul) facing, in six-arched double tressure with trefoils at most points, (S VLNA)GII:PANNORV:IN CIVITATE:LO(N) around // (crown) in six-arched double tressure with trefoils at the points, S SVB(C or S)IDII:PANNORV.(IN C)IVIT(AT)E (L)ON around (Lombardic lettering)".

[Note from the site owner] If you should read this Groats (or any friends who know him) please get in touch as I would like further pictures of this seal if possible.

See Museum of London 84.107/5 for a parallel seal and Museum of London 84.132/5 for another cloth seal showing the head of St Paul and the arms of London on the same side, plus an interesting privy mark on the connecting strip.
