Found on Thames foreshore, 20mm x 15mm.
Crowned Rose, COLCHEST(ER) around // missing but ...CHE / ..(T?)E.. on rivet head
One disc from a two disc alnage seal from Colchester. The lack of distinct break where another disc was attached, other than the connecting strip, and rivet head on the reverse indicates a two disc seal. The inscription on that side may be Colchester spread over two lines or SEARCHED and another word.
