Blank // chained portcullis, ...CHESTER 165- around // the arms of the Commonwealth - twin doubly engrailed shields, with St George's Cross and the Irish harp, THE COMMON WEALTH around // blank
A four-disc Commonwealth alnage seal. Inscription reads Chester but there appears to be more inscription before the C of Chester. Spacing suggests Colchester is more probable. The last number of the date is illegible.
