Cloth Seal, Germanic Merchant's Seal, Triple Rose

Cloth Seal, Germanic Merchant's Seal, Triple Rose, Image & Found by Anatoly Kotlobay.
Found near the city of Klin, Russia, 50mm.

Missing // triple rose, DIEV EST (MON) DROYT around // missing // missing

As the reverse shows no sign of a rivet stub or having been welded to another disc, it is likely to be an inner-disc from a four-disc cloth seal. There are traces of guilding.

From the finder, "The subject of lead-tin alloy, about 5 cm in diameter. Found in Russia near the city of Klin on the old trade route. The Tudor rose in the centre, the circular inscription DIEV EST [MON] DROYT (variant spelling of the motto "dieu es mon droit"), around the edge a border of stylized Royal lilies. Traces of gilding. The reverse side is smooth. Is there in community any expert historian on the Tudor period, who can tell which items were used like seals? Judging by the fact that the seal is lacking year, the company or the merchant name, but only the Royal motto, plus gilding, I suppose it could be quite an expensive merchandise belonging directly to the Royal court. Or I get wrong? Something similar was found in early 2017 in Moscow, Zaryadye during construction works. The item called "the locket", but it is definitely what is called merchant's seal I guess."

This seal adds to the variety of the 'Germanic' type seals. It is a triple rose as in the Gvilhelmus Almandete versions - BSG.CS.01265 and BSG.CS.01539 but instead of the name it has the 'dieu es mon droit' inscription around the rose instead of around the 'botched' Tudor Arms of England as in BSG.CS.01266 and the differently structured BSG.CS.00372 and BSG.CS.00373.
