From Philippe Lanez, "French sparkling wine or champagne for BOSHAMER LEON (& C°), more probably C.S. on this seal. Other side BORDEAUX for place name in Aquitania region south west part of France.
Boshamer & Co, in texts, are known as wine bottlers and over world traders. They have been represented in the local Wines Syndicate in early XXth. Also active in the Campagne region, archives gives them as champagne shippers with main French Maisons. A bottle of CHATEAU PONTET CANET1887 went on Sothby's april 2014 auction.
They used advertising postcards of Bordeaux, such as LE COURS DU TRENTE JUILLET A BORDEAUX, dated BOSHAMER LEON JANVIER 1905."
