Identified by Philippe Lanez, - German potash control quality.
"The Potash Syndicate was constituted in 1888 as a cartel that controlled the production of potash in Germany. Throughout its existence there were many changes in its constituent members as well as the agreements between them. It was dissolved in 1918 with the loss of Alsace to France.
"The production of potash salts in Germany is controlled by the Verkaufs Syndikate der Kaliwerke, Loepoldshall-Stassfurt, which sells through agents in the principal countries of the world, establishing price-lists at the beginning of each yeah which undergo but little change"
Verkaufs means sales in German. Stassfurt is situated on both sides of the river Bode, approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) northeast of Aschersleben, and 30 km (19 mi) south of Magdeburg in Germany.
See BSG.BS.00292 for a related seal also thought to be from a time subsequent to the American take over of this German enterprise.
