Noury & van der Lande, "Noury & Van der Lande or in full: Koninklijke Industrieële Maatschappij v / h Noury & Van der Lande NV, was a food and chemical company that was founded on September 6, 1838 by GJL van der Lande in Deventer. It is one of the companies that formed the basis of the AKZO group.
Originally, the company operated an oil peeling and cement mills and processed and traded rapeseed , linseed , vegetable oils, barley and trass. After wind power was replaced by steam in 1848, wheat flour was also produced. In addition to a flour factory and an oil factory, the company consisted of a cattle feed factory. After a major fire in 1888, a new flour factory was built in Deventer, and a new oil factory was built in Kleve, Germany. Many of Noury & Van der Lande's buildings, including the wheat flour factory, were designed by Deventer architect Gerard te Riele."
