A four disc alnage seal for Exeter from the reign of Charles II (1681).
The upside down portcullis with lion couchant is found on seals Marked Devon as well as Exeter, See seals 1255, 2156, 3686 and 4029 in Provenanced Leaden Cloth Seals by Geoffrey Egan, Sub-Department of Medieval Archaeology, University College, University of London. submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
