Cloth Seal, Dutch, Amsterdam, Crowned Arms, Image & Found by Martijn.
Found: Amersfoort (landfill ground from Amsterdam, transported to Holland in the 18th century and used as manure) Diameter: 25mm.
Crowned shield bearing the arms of Amsterdam - three crosses of St Andrew in pale. Other side not shown.
Two golden lions were added as supporters in the sixteenth century. This seal may pre-date that or simply be reduced to make the dye easier to cut.
