Cloth Seal, Dutch, Amsterdam, Eagle, Image & Sent by Martijn.
Probably found in the Netherlands, Diameter: 20mm.

Double headed spread eagle with AMSTERDAMSE (VERWE) inscribed around, all in a border of pellets. The other side has the arms of Amsterdam.

From the sender - "The double headed eagle was the emblem of the guild of the workers who dyed cloth. Cloth that was coloured blue was dyed black first, the basis colour for blue cloth was black after which the cloth was coloured blue. Amsterdam was famous of colouring cloth, especially cotton. Even some of the drapery of Leiden was coloured in Amsterdam."
