Second line:- IMB9? = Probably Roman script, Indicates the quality and type of goods but uncertain what initials stood for.*
Third line 1828 = Date of grading
Second side:-
First line:- ЛД = LD = Flax Inspection
Second & Third lines:- К:Р(Я?) / БОВЬ = K:R(ja?) / BOV'
= (initials & surname of Quality Control Officer - probably K.Ryabov, an 1831 seal of his is held at Aberdeen Museum and Gallery.)*
Fourth line:- H(8)0 = N (8)0 = the number of the post the QA Officer worked at.*
These seals are Russian flax or hemp bale quality control seals.
