Found near Mistley.
Suffolk County Council Archaeological Services Find Report sf7380:-
Russian bale seal, an oval lead disc measuring 23 x 21.5mm, thickness 5mm and weight 11.07g. One face is stamped with Cyrillic lettering in four lines, reading (translated) L.D./ IMVI / NNIKS / M 55 (the last two letters of the second line and the second 5 are unclear). The other face has Roman letters reading NP./-F 12 H/1809. The second line on this face is very unclear but is read with help of the parallel in Fife Museum, CUPMS 1999.56.14 (Sullivan2000, no.40). There is, however, a definite initial before the F. John Sullivan has seen this seal and confirms that the Quality Control Officer issuing this seal in St Petersburg was I.M. Vinnikov.
See Fig.4b and section 5.2.4.1, p.21, *Russian Cloth Seals in Britain: Trade, Textiles and Origins by John Sullivan.
Inscription deciphered and completed by Ged Dodd of The PeaceHavens Project, IDS 59 using his extensive database:-
ЛД = LD / И.M.BИHHИKO = I.M.VINNIKOV / H56 // NP / CF12H / 1809
