Found on the Isle of Wight, 32mm.
+ (on connecting strip) / 2216 / 31:1 / NR (all scratched) // S (TF ligate) / woolsack
See parallel seal BSG.CS.00675, which was originally thought to be a dyer's seal based on the interpretation of the sack as a madderbag. These are normally distinguished by the cords wrapping them but they do sometimes appear just tied in the corners like woolsacks, see Fig.35, London Dyers' Company seals, Geoff Egan, British Museum Occasional Paper 93, Lead Cloth Seals & Related Items in the British Museum. This seal has clearer markings and the bag appears more like the woolsacks seen on clothiers seals - see p.269, Elton, Cloth Seals, Archaeopress, 2017.
